Who we are

Big Gups (“the site”, “we”) is a community-run, non-commercial website for Where Winds Meet PvP tournaments: sign-ups, brackets, results and statistics. This policy explains what data we handle and why.

What we collect

We only collect what running tournaments needs. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

  • Discord account. You sign in with Discord. We request only the identify scope and keep your Discord id, username and avatar. We do not receive or store your email address.
  • Your player profile. The display name you choose, and what you fill in to enter a tournament: your in-game name, your in-game UID and your build (the two martial arts you play).
  • Tournament entries. Sign-ups, check-ins, waitlist places, withdrawals (with the optional note you leave), seeds and match results.
  • Server logs. Like any website, our server keeps technical logs (your IP address, browser, and the pages and forms you use) to keep the site running and secure. They are not shared.

What is public

Tournaments are public events, so their results are public on this site:

  • Your display name and avatar, in brackets, participant lists, standings and statistics.
  • Your in-game name and build, next to your entries.
  • Your results: matches, scores, placements, season points and records.
  • Your player page, which gathers those results, records and your match history in one place.

Your Discord username, your in-game UID and any withdrawal note are only visible to the organizers. Results of editions played before this site existed are shown under the player names used at the time, each with a player page of those results. When one of those players signs up, the organizers link that history to their account.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in. It is strictly necessary for signing in and is not used for tracking. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use your data

  • To sign you in and keep you signed in.
  • To run tournaments: sign-ups, check-in, seeding, brackets and results.
  • To show results, standings and statistics.
  • To keep the site running and secure.

Third-party services

Signing in goes through Discord, which is governed by its own privacy policy. Avatars are loaded from Discord’s image servers.

Data retention & deletion

Your account and profile are kept while you use the site. You can ask us to delete your account at any time: we remove your Discord link, your avatar, your in-game UID and your player page, and you can no longer sign in. Your name stays in past tournament results and statistics, because they are part of the tournament history and of other players’ records too (a bracket needs both sides of every match). To ask, sign in and pick “Account deletion” on the contact form: signing in proves the account is yours.

Contact

Questions, or a deletion request? The contact form reaches the organizers directly.
